Son of God Movie Review: The Son of God movie, produced by Mark Burnett and Roma downey, is much the buzz. Though produced by Roman Catholics, it, like its predecessor The Passion of the Christ, is being warmly and enthusiastically embraced and promoted by evangelicals. Is this movie an accurate portrayal of the Jesus of the Bible? Does it communicate the Gospel? The answer to both of these is, sadly, a resounding "No." I attended the movie and took notes. In this program I will relate just a few of the many, many historical and theological errors in this movie. The errors are so glaring and so brazen that it is hard to imagine any Bible-believing Christian to endorse it. But endorse it they have. Toward the end of the program I will also give my thoughts on whether or not it is even right to portray the Lord Jesus in film. These things are too holy and too sacred to be taken lightly.
